Twilight Gambler Bike Ride

You don't have to be fast.
You just can't fold.

Ready to take a gamble? Up for a 50K or 100K ride through northeast Georgia's rolling countryside? Then Join hundreds of other cyclists for the Twilight Gambler Bike Ride Presented by Georgia Cycle Sport.

Get one playing card when you start -- three more along the way at three checkpoints that also have water, snacks, and other refreshments -- and a final card at the end of the ride to complete the hand. Cyclists with the best hands win prizes!

This year, the ride will finish at the Terrapin Beer Co., where you will get a tour of the brewery (included with your entry) and a chance to taste the special Kolsch style beer that Terrapin has brewed to celebrate this year's Twilight. You must be 21 years of ago or older with a valid ID in order to be served beer. The bar will be open between 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM. You will also get a t-shirt!  Join your friends or intimidate other riders with a poker face and a good time.

Entry forms can be dropped off at Georgia Cycle Sport at 1029 Baxter Street in Athens or you may register online or by mail. Check back for information about prizes and awards location.

Please click here to download a Zip file containing GPS information for the Gambler and here to download a printable map of the courses.

Are you a triathlete? Then try your hand at the Twiathlon - a 5k run, 50k/100k participation ride, and a tour of Terrapin.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER!
  • Park your car at the Terrapin brewery. You will be finishing here, so it will be convenient after the ride. Click here for directions to the brewery.

  • From the brewery, take a right on Newton Bridge Road and go straight at the light. This turns in to Barber Street and goes under the Athens Perimeter. Take a left on Prince Avenue and proceed to the start/finish area downtown on Washington Street at College Avenue.

  • Registration/number pick-up will be in the lower level of the parking deck on College Avenue starting at 7:00 AM.

  • Please make sure you leave the brewery with enough time to pick-up your number (if you did not get it on Friday night) and to make the start. It is only a ten minute ride, but you never know.

  • Maps that will be included at the start and in packet pickup will guide you to the brewery where the ride ends and the fun begins.

  • Please change into regular clothes and shoes after the ride and before your tour.  You will need your number and driver's license to gain access to the tour.
